A week in pictures

1. Beans on toast with Brie, 2. Vintage Fox Postcard from eBay, 3. Black Swan Halloween Costume, 4. New Playsuit from Topshop, 5. Halloween with Toni, 6. My new husky hot water bottle

Here's just a few photos to sum up the past week, the main event of course being Halloween! I know Halloween is actually today but I celebrated it on Saturday because there is nothing to do on a Monday night, so I'll be sat in catching up on the latest episode of The Walking Dead (yessssssss!). Luckily as I live in a flat we hopefully shouldn't be interrupted by trick-or-treaters!

I am totally in love with my new playsuit. It's blue crushed velvet and it's beautiful! It's been a while since a piece of clothing has made me say 'wow' and feel amazing in it, so I just had to get it! I put it on a hold for a day at my local Topshop and it's lucky I did because it had sold out within the day. It was £55 (£49.50 with student discount) which is a little more than what I would usually pay but I feel like it looks like it's worth a lot more. It's really flattering and falls off the figure beautifully. If you can't tell I've found love! I cannot wait to have an occasion to wear it!

I've kept meaning to buy a hot water bottle for ages and when I saw this cute little face staring up at me I knew I had to buy it. I was also tempted by the most adorable husky backpack, but I resisted as I knew I would never ever wear it. The problem is my boyfriend keeps stealing him off of me now!

OOTD: Black Swan

30 October, 2011

Feather Cape: ASOS (old), Tutu: eBay

Not the typical daily outfit post, but this was the Halloween costume I pieced together for when I went out last night. If you don't understand the reference I was the Black Swan ballerina (pictured below).

The idea came to me late last week so it's been a frantic rush putting it together and I was still sewing just before I went out last night! I've had the cape a couple of years now, my boyfriend bought it for me because I was lusting over it online forever. I've never really had many occasions to wear it, however last night it made a rare appearance from the wardrobe. I absolutely love dressing up, so if there is any excuse to get creative with a costume and be absolutely over-the-top I am there in an instant! It's a bit silly the amount of time and money I spend on fancy dress, but it's so much fun! I can't wait for Halloween next year already!

Glossybox October 2011

27 October, 2011

Dermalogica Age Smart Muilti-Vitamin Power Recover Masque, Dermalogica Age Smart Multi Vitamin Thermafoliant, Leighton Denny Nail Polish, Stila Smudge Stick Eyeliner, Robert Piguet Perfumes, Dermalogica Agesmart Renwal Lip Complex, Dermalogica Travel Bag

I've been umm-ing and ahh-ing over subscribing to a beauty box for months. Everytime I see what's in the previous month's box on other bloga I instantly regret not subscribing. However, I gave up my £33 gym membership this month, so I felt like this was the perfect excuse to subscribe, by using it as a replacement to the gym. I may as well subscribe to something I will actually use afterall, as my gym membership was a complete failure!

I opted for Glossybox as this seems to be the most successful commercially. Although, a little steeper in price compared to the others (£12.95 with delivery), the items and sample sizes always seem more than generous.

I never really used to be into cosmetics and beauty, however I would say I easily spend at least £60 a month now on make-up and skincare, so at least this way I am able to try out the products before committing to buy them. I must say I was more than happy with this month's products. I've used Dermologica before and the results were amazing, however their skincare range is not usually something my pocket can stretch to. The Leighton Denny polish is a beautiful powder pink and I am certain I'll be getting lots of wear out of it. I'm an eyeliner fiend as I cannot go a day without it and the Stila liner is a lovely, mossy green, which is perfect to wear on the eyes for winter. As it is green it should compliment my hair wonderfully (I hope!).

Overall, I'm very happy with my decision to subscribe to Glossybox. The only let down was the perfumes which seem a bit too "mature" for myself, but I still intend to stay subscribed for November's box!

OOTD: It's hard to dance with a devil on your back

26 October, 2011

Blouse: Topshop, Bodycon skirt: H&M, Shoes: Primark
Lookbook

Today's weather has been truly miserable. Gone are the beautiful, chilly, sunny autumn mornings replaced with drizzling rain and grey skies. Typical England. I bought this blouse in the end of summer sale, which was an unsure decision as I never ever wear red! This must be the only red item of clothing I actually own. The shoes were an emergency buy from Primark when I needed black flats, they have an unbelievably comfy fur lining too! It's like wearing slippers out without looking like an idiot!

I spent this afternoon watching Gossip Girl and painting in Pret with a latte for my latest university project. I have also finished reading 'My Sister's Keeper' and found the end shocking. I am proud to admit though I did not cry throughout the whole book and I am usually a complete sap! I have my next book lined up which is 'Remember Me' by Melvyn Bragg which is a tragic romance. I'll have the tissues at the ready for this one!
