OOTD: Wolf Heart

24 May, 2012

Hat: £10, New Look // Sunglasses: Camden Market, £5 // Kimono: Urban Outfitters Sale ( + staff discount), £12 // Crop: Miss Selfridge Sale, £7 // Wolf Necklace*: c/o Raspberry Grape // Kora Necklace: Rock N Rose, £18 // Trousers: Room 31 Sale, £4 // Sandals: Topshop Sale, £25 // Bag: Urban Outfitters Sale (+staff discount), £15

These lace trousers turned up this morning at my door and I couldn't wait to put them straight on! They were a bit of a bargain considering they were originally over £20, but they were down to just £6.99 in the sale and then a couple of nights ago Room 31 had a flash 40% off of everything discount code, so it brought them down to around £4. I do already own a lace pair of trousers that I bought from Urban Outfitters years and years ago, but I've never really worn them because they don't have any shorts attached and they're quite fitted around the thighs. I love this pair are so baggy that they could even be mistaken for a skirt! They make me feel one step closer to morphing into Mary-Kate Olsen! A girl can dream...

This amazing wolf necklace was kindly sent to me from Lauren at Raspberry Grape. As you may know I'm a little obsessed by wolves so this necklace was a perfect addition to my jewellery collection. Raspberry Grape is full of affordable little treasures made by Lauren and what's more is she offers free delivery within the UK! Hallelujah!

I'm currently willing my hair to grow as ideally I want it down to at least my waist by at least next summer. I've noticed when It's grown a considerable amount since January, but I still want it to grow faster! I've completely cut out straighteners and hairdryers and regularly condition my hair. Has anyone got any other tips for helping it grow?

OOTD: Be Stupid For Successful Living

23 May, 2012

T-Shirt (cut into crop): Diesel via Dazed & Confused Magazine (old) // Dress: eBay, £2 // Belt: Dorothy Perkins, £15 // Sunglasses: Primark, 50p // Necklace: Topshop Sale, £1.50 // Sandals: Urban Outfitters (+ staff discount), £18 // Bracelets: Dixi, Junk & Disorderly & Market Stall

I'm not going to lie, I'm not coping too well with this heatwave! I only had a 5 hour shift at work today and I'm exhausted simply from the heat. I just want to curl up and sleep already! This Diesel crop was originally a t-shirt that came in an issue of Dazed & Confused years and years ago. I never really wear it anymore but I wanted to layer up this tie-dye dress a little bit rather than just throw a belt around the waist and this went perfectly!

The sunglasses were super cheap in the Primark sale over winter - 50p! I've got the same pair in black too which I featured in an outfit post a few months ago when the sun first started showing it's face. I'm in a pretty horrid mood today as I'm having one of those horrible days where I woke up bloated before I even ate anything this morning and all I've been eating is salads recently. How does that work?! So unfair. Back to pizza it is!

OOTD: Glass Boutique's "Best of British Bloggers"

21 May, 2012

Hat: Vintage via Beatnik Emporium, £23 // Dress: Vintage, 99p via eBay // Necklace: Rock N Rose, £18 // Petticoat (worn underneath): Angel's Fancy Dress, £15 // Boots: Dr Marten's via eBay, £112

Toni at Glass Boutique recently contacted me to feature as a part of their "Best of British" campaign as part of the upcoming celebration of the Golden Jubilee and of course, let's not forget the Olympics coming to London! What an exciting time to be British! Glass Boutique is an online store that stocks a whole host of designer names from Something Else to Libertine-Libertine, which are hard to come by on the high street. They've been kind enough to offer readers of Fox & Feather a 15% discount code off of any full-priced items. Just enter 'FAF15' at the checkout to redeem your code. This offer is only valid until this Wednesday, so snap up a bargain whilst you can! A particular favourite of mine are these beautiful Mark McNairy gold brogues and these Swedish Hasbeens.

As a part of Glass Boutique's "Best of British" campaign, today's outfit was inspired by Britain of the 1980's. This vintage tartan dress was an absolute steal at only 99p and although it's a little big on, it's nothing a belt cannot sort out! I also popped a petticoat underneath (which was intially bought for fancy dress) to exaggerate the 1980's look. Think Smell from 'This Is England'. Of course, this look would not be complete without a pair of traditional British Dr. Marten's, which are always firm staples in my wardrobe. Dr. Marten's are one of the most iconic designs of footwear in the world as their yellow stitching and air-cushioned soles are recognised internationally. They are the epitome of the style that was on the streets of Britain in the 1980's.

Today was my last hand-in for my second year at university so I'm currently celebrating with a bottle of wine for one. This also means no interruptions or breaks from blogging for at least 5 whole beautiful months over the summer!

OOTD: New Favourite Minkpink Dress

17 May, 2012

Jacket: Topshop Concessions (old!), £40 // Dress: Minkpink via Urban Outfitters, £45 (with staff discount) // Necklace: Topshop Sale, £3.50 // Bag: Urban Outfitters Sale, £15 (with staff discount) // Boots: Topshop, £75

I just threw this on to show you what I wore out on Saturday night as I wore my new favourite 'Scorpio Rising' dress by Minkpink. I bought mine from Urban Outfitters to use a cheeky little staff discount, but I know ASOS sell a range of Minkpink clothing too. It's honestly perfect! It's just the right amount of baggy without making me look like a potato sack and the perfect length to cover my bottom without having to worry. It's not often I splash out this much money on one dress, as I'm usually a charity or vintage shopper, but this one was worth every penny! I'm sure it'll stay put in my wardrobe for years to come!

This is possibly the last time I will be able to blog until early next week, because I am under an enormous amount of pressure and stress to complete all of my assignments before my deadline on Monday. I'm working away like there's no tomorrow, so I really have not got the time to blog at the moment. After Monday though I have a glorious 5 month summer to look forward to before starting my third and final year!

The lovely people at Glamorous contacted me recently to share a 20% off discount code with my readers when you enter ‘Glamorous20’ at the checkout. On top of this they're also offering free delivery until the end of May! Glamorous were one of the very few concessions that were sold in Bank Fashion when I worked there that I actually liked! Their website has a range of gorgeous and more importantly extremely affordable pieces that are perfect for the upcoming summer season! Their waterfall dresses and kimonos are my favourites. I've got a bit of a kimono fetish going on at the moment. Basically, I just wish I was a geisha.

OOTD: Young Folks

12 May, 2012

Dress: Charity Shop, £7 // Bralet: Urban Outfitters Sale, £5 // Belt: Primark (old), £1 // Necklace: Rock N Rose, Gifted // Arm cuff: Topshop Sale, £4.50 // Boots: Topshop, £75

I picked up this maxi dress from a charity shop earlier in the week. It's a little too big around the chest, so I have to wear this bralet underneath to avoid a possible "slip of the nip" as I like to call it. I'm gaining so many maxi dresses and skirts for the summer, because unfortunately shorts just don't seem to suit me. I tried on a pair of beautiful floral shorts in Republic yesterday and I almost had a mini breakdown in the fitting room because I looked like a hippo squeezing into a thong in them. I'm not looking for sympathy because I know I'm not exactly big, I just have a lot of hatred for my bottom half. However, a positive has come of this horrid meeting with the shorts of doom and I have kicked myself into shape by cutting down my food intake and eating a lot healthier. I'm also introducing green tea and pure lemon juice back into my daily intake to speed up my metalbolism. Hopefully I'll be slipping into those shorts in no time!

I finally have the Rock N Rose Kora Inverted necklace. After tweeting about my need for it in my jewellery collection a lovely lady gifted it to me! I haven't taken it off since it arrived at my door yesterday morning and I doubt I'll be taking it off for a long time coming. If you've been watching Britain's Got Talent you would have seen that Loveable Rogues got through to the finals! So this is my plea to you one last time to pick up your phones and vote for them tonight! Every vote really does make the world of difference.

OOTD: Lace & Flower Crowns

08 May, 2012

Jacket: Vintage via Charity Shop, £5 // Dress*: c/o OASAP // Cycling Shorts: New Look Sale, £4 // Flower Garland: eBay, £3 // Socks: Topshop, £3.50 // Boots: H&M, £29.99

This cream lace dress was sent to me by the lovely people at OASAP, but unfortunately it's far too short for me so I've styled it as a tunic to wear with these lace trim shorts I picked up in the New Look sale a few weeks ago. I've probably overdone it with all the lace, but I quite like the mis-mash of different pattern cuts and colours. This is the first time I've worn this sheer jacket and I love it so, so much! It was such a good buy considering it only cost me a measly £5. Charity shops pull through once again!

I'm spending tonight eating Chinese and watching Britain's Got Talent. My boyfriend's brother's band, Loveable Rogues, are through to the semi-finals so it would be lovely if you could all pick up your phones tonight and vote! Every vote really does count. I'll be voting for the first time since trying to vote for dear old Gareth Gates in the first series of Pop Idol! Sadly, I never got through. Tonight I am determined to get through though! If you vote for them tonight, I'll re-pay you in cookies and love! Now, if that isn't a good deal I don't know what is!

OOTD: Am I Charlotte Free Yet? / Pink Hair, Fox Nails & Dixi Rings

06 May, 2012

Top: D.I.Y. // Skirt: Primark (old), £10 // Boots: H&M, £29.99 // Rings: c/o Dixi*, H! by Henry Holland & Giveaway win // Nails: Topshop 'Big Smoke' & 'Offbeat' // Nail Stickers: JanChristie via eBay, £2

I've wondered what a pink dip-dye would look like on my hair for a while. I wasn't entirely sure it would work with ginger hair, but it looks alot better than I imagined! Fear not though, for it is not permanent. My curiosity simply got the better of me and I purchased one of those cheap spray-in colours from Superdrug before I took the plunge with a more permanent colour. I must admit I'm now very tempted to make it permanent as if you squint and maybe look from distance (a considerable distance) I could just be Abbey Lee Kershaw in her pink hair days! Maybe, just maybe...

You may already know but the wonderful Dixi finally relaunched today with hundreds of new items, including these gold above knuckle rings they kindly sent me. Dixi is one of my favourite online shops as it stocks modern and vintage clothing so you can find some one-off gems that no one else will own! Don't even get me started on their gorgeous jewellery collection! As you may have also noticed I'm sporting fox nail art. Not looking too shabby for a nail art newbie like me. The stickers were from a seller on eBay who stocks tons of animal stickers from Pugs to ferrets to toads! The obvious choice for me was a fox, but I'm thinking I may have to invest in some Husky stickers soon!

This is a pretty old outfit (minus the boots), in fact I wore the exact same to Reading Festival two years ago but with a pair of wellies. Embarrassing. The top was originally my boyfriend's that he kindly gave up to me to cut into a crop top. The skirt is probably one of the girliest things I own, hence the reason I've toughened it up with the crop top. The "ugly pretty" look is one of my favourites by dressing down a pretty, feminine dress or skirt with something a bit grungier. Thank you for all of your recommendations on tripods, I ended up ordering this one from ASDA for a pretty decent price! Hopefully, this one will last a little longer than 3 days...

OOTD: Tie-Dye

05 May, 2012

Jacket: Topshop Sale, £10 // T-Shirt: Urban Outfitters, £18 £10 (with staff discount) // Necklace: Topshop Sale, £1.50 // Shorts: Urban Outfitters, £40 £24 (with staff discount) // Tights: Primark, £2 // Boots: Doc Marten's via eBay, £34

Say 'hello' to velvet Doc Marten's numero deux to my big shoe family! If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will have already seen them when they arrived at my door yesterday. I literally haven't taken them off since! I had a bit of luck with them as "Marten's" was misspelled in the listing, so no one bid against me and I managed to get them for just over £30. This is an absolute bargain considering my red velvet Doc's cost me over £100! These ones are actually from the 80's, so they're pretty hard to come by as well, which is an added bonus!

Unfortunately, my tripod broke after just 2 uses, so my blogging days are over... Only kidding! It might have been something to do with the fact it only cost me £7 from eBay. Annoyingly, I had already left the seller feedback so there's no chance of getting a replacement sent out, grr! I'm on the lookout for a much sturdier replacement. In the meantime it's back to camera upon box balancing act! #bloggerproblems

Missguided Peace & Love Collection

04 May, 2012

1., 2., 3. & 4.

I must admit I've never been particularly drawn to Missguided in the past and I blacklisted it amongst the likes of Boohoo and Very as websites I wouldn't really be likely to shop at as they didn't seem to cater for my style. Oh, how Missguided have since proved me wrong! Their 'Peace + Love' collection launched last week and I must eat my hat as I'm besotted with every single piece! They have created a striking collection with an array of aztec prints, studs, stripes and crosses that would look perfectly at home in my wardrobe!

I've picked out a few of my favourite items from the collection above. The chiffon skater dress with the extended studded collar detail is unlike any dress I have ever seen before! The collar detail is so gorgeous I may have to make an 'accidental purchase' later this week! I understand the crosses trend might be one to be desired, especially with the inverted cross having Satanic connotations (but it's actually originally the cross of St. Peter if you do your research - I'm not a Satanist, I swear!). However, I love it so I'm currently lusting over these jeans, even though I never ever wear jeans! All of the aztec pieces in their collection would not look out of place at a festival this summer, particularly the denim paneled hotpants! So far I only have Reading Festival lined up, but I may invest in a pair to see me through the weekend there!

Also, if you're a student you can now get student discount with Missguided if you sign up with UNiDAYS here.

You can view the whole collection here. Brace your wallets!

OOTD: Cross My Heart

01 May, 2012

Headband: Primark, £2 // Lace Bolero: Vintage via Charity Shop, £2 // Camisole: AllSaints, £40 // Bandeau: Accessorise Sale, £4 // Skirt: Urban Outfitters Sale (+ staff discount), £7.50 // Belt: Primark, 50p // Boots: Topshop, £75

I bought this skirt just yesterday whilst I was at work as it was only £10 in the sale. As you may know I love anything that has crosses on it and this midi skirt was no exception! Also the fact that it actually has pockets is an added bonus! Why is there such a lack of skirts and dresses with pockets these days? It's like pockets are restricted to just men, unless you're wearing jeans (which I very rarely do!). Well, guess what?! Sometimes I don't want to have to carry a bag around, so more pockets would be much appreciated! Rant about the slow extinction of pockets over.

I picked up this lace bolero in a charity shop in Essex a few years ago before I came to university. I actually forgot about it as it's lived at the back of the wardrobe since I've moved in. I suppose now the sun's beginning to show itself again I may just be swapping cardigans for boleros and kimonos now. I'm so excited because I am finally going to see The Hunger Games tonight! If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen my tweets about when I constantly had my head inside the book 24/7. I'm hoping the film lives up to the hype, because I am a book > movie girl. I'm also getting my tattoo tomorrow, which I am still stupidly nervous about! I keep having nightmares about it all going horribly wrong! It's not even my first tattoo!
