Free People

07 February, 2013

Boots*: Jeffrey Campbell c/o Free People // Jacket: Topshop Sale, £36 // Dress: Charity Shop, £5 // Socks: Urban Outfitters, £4.50 (inc. staff discount)

You may or may not know but Urban Outfitter's sister store, Free People, are finally launching in the UK much to my excitement! For years now they have been a favourite store of mine with their beautiful bohemian style frocks and accessories. In all honesty, if I was limited to shopping in one store my entire life I would name Free People without hesitation (sorry Urban Outfitters!). Magnificently I was contacted by Free People to feature an item of their collection on my blog. I chose these wonderful, leather buckle ankle boots which are designed by Jeffrey Campbell exclusively for just Free People! I've wanted a pair of cut-out, buckled ankle boots after falling in love with the Jeffrey Campbell Roscoe boots, but I now prefer these as they are much more suited to my style. They will be permanently attached to my feet throughout the summer teamed with flowing mini dresses and a huge, floppy hat. I'm just waiting for winter to disappear and summer to show it's face. If you are considering buying a pair, I recommend you go a size up from your usual size as they seem to run up quite small. I am usually a US 7 (UK 4.5), but I opted for a US 8 (UK 5.5) as recommended on the website and they fit rather snugly. Free People have a number of exclusive, beautiful Jeffrey Campbell shoes available on their UK site that I have been losing a lot sleep over.

I'm also wearing my latest jacket purchase which was reduced from £135 to just £40 in Topshop sale. It doesn't show too well in the photos unfortunately but the metal detailing is entirely a vivid rose gold. It's rather heavy and oversized so it's perfect for the chilly weather at the moment. The dress was originally a layer maxi dress which I simply snipped away at with scissors to make a little/a lot shorter. I'll leave you with this video, which is actually part of Free People's latest catalogue campaign and completely stole my heart. I can't even begin to explain how perfect the narrative is in this video and I've watched it countless times. I hate to be such a typical girl but it's the most perfect romantic tale I've ever seen. I really love the idea that Free People have pushed the boundaries with their new season catalogue by creating a well thought out, beautiful short film that I believe encompasses the company's spirit and consumer perfectly. Also, on top of that it features the very, very, easy on the eye Christopher Abbott from HBO's Girls whom is my current fangirl obsession and the enchanting and beautiful, Sheila Marquez. I am obsessed with this video. Obsessed. Watch it now.
