These 'Stevie' flared jeans are named after one of my most respected and adored women of all time, the enchanting Stevie Nicks. As you can imagine I was thrilled when I was offered to style up a pair from Missguided! Flared jeans are either hit or miss with a lot of people. They are vastly seen as an outdated, laughable trend nowadays, but as my mind is stuck in the 60's and 70's I absolutely love them. I think anyone else with a vintage tendency would agree! In the first outfit I opted for a lot of layers including this black, sheer kimono from Missguided that has instantly become one of my favourite and most versatile items of clothing. It's perfectly transitional from winter to spring too as it works well layered up for warmth (like above), but it's a lovely cooling, sheer chiffon that would make a perfect beach throw over. Velvet and faux fur are firm favourites of mine when it comes to textures, so I couldn't help but include both within the same outfit! A typical seventies female look is to look like you're wearing all of your wardrobe at once, after all it was easier that way when you're jumping on tour buses across the country, whether you were in the band or with the band!

In the second outfit I'm wearing a batwing, crochet trim, sheer black top from Missguided that was also sent to me. As not to disguise or hide the detail I decided not to layer up this outfit, but keep it simple. The crochet trimming and batwing sleeves are too beautiful to be covered up and give off the perfect 70's Stevie-inspired allure. I must admit it's been a while since I've worn such low rise jeans as high-waisted tend to be my safety net. However, I've welcomed these flared beauties with open arms as they still have the perfect amount of stretch to make them comfortable. You can shop the 'Stevie' jeans here, which come in this lighter wash and an indigo colour.

This is officially my first post of 2014, so I'm hoping you all had a Happy New Year and wishing you well in the upcoming one. I've developed a list of goals I hope to achieve this year, which I'll be blogging about within the next few days.

  2. I love both of these outfits! So many textures in the first - lace, velvet, fur, you've got it all covered! And the second is just pure beautiful boho. That top is magnificent.

  6. Flared jeans can be extremely hard to style without going cliche but I think you've done a really good job here, I'm feeling so inspired by all your layers. I'm off to raid my Mum's vintage wardrobe!
