Satchel*: c/o Nica Handbags

Now, when it comes to me and bags I'm usually a little on the scruffy side. My typical day-to-day look is sporting a tapestry rucksack or an ink-stained, illustrated tote bag. However, I'm turning 23 next week (eeeek!), so I'll officially be an adult as Taylor Swift unfortunately hasn't made a song yet dubbed '23', which will excuse me into extending my Peter Pan theory of acting like an irresponsible, scrappy teenager forever - it's time to up my bag game to more appropriate choices! Handbag designer and retailer Nica contacted me just in time asking me to review one of their bags from their new SS14 collection. I chose this rather beautiful, embossed, tan Sara satchel to grace my shoulders. Although Nica offer a smaller, more compact version of the Sara satchel I decided to go for the larger one as I tend to carry rather a lot with me in my daily handbag. The larger version is in fact the perfect size to keep everything in place without being unnecessarily oversized.

The embossed Art Nouveau inspired design adds a subtle vintage edge to the satchel which means it sits perfectly in my wardrobe against all of my other outfits! It also features a bold purple and white printed lining which contrasts nicely against the tan coloured leather. It certainly makes all the difference when the interior of a bag is thought through just as much as the aesthetic of the exterior. Also, I'm pretty much a pocket fiend! I get a little over-excited about a well-placed pocket and the pocket on the rear of this bag is ideal to slip bits in I may need to grab in a hurry like my travelcards, tickets and phone. Nica have a whole range of beautiful satchels on their website and I must say I'm also pretty fond of the 'Alicia' design too!
