Just call me Cruella De Vil in my dalmatian print get-up.

Here's a whole host of textures for you to feast your eyes upon: suede, faux fur and quilted metallic. I was originally going to title this blog post 'Space Cowboy' which I think is still rather fitting for this outfit. But, as I've had a whole lot of SEO waffle rammed down my throat recently I'm opting for more boring post titles. Sorry guys, but I need me those brownie points from Google!

This blue suede, button down skirt was a bargain buy from Beyond Retro at their Cheshire Street store. For those of you that don't know, they actually have an outlet section there with up to 70% off all year round. This little skirt cost me just £12 and is exactly what I was coveting. Annoyingly it doesn't sit quite right at the waist due to the elasticated waistband, but I really cannot complain for the price.

What do you think of mixing textures within an outfit?

R E V I E W | JewelStreet Bracelet

27 March, 2015

Now, I'm a fussy so and so when it comes to jewellery.  I haven't even got set rules to what I would wear and wouldn't wear; I just know what I like and what I don't like. When JewelStreet contacted me to review a piece from their website I was expecting to trawl through pages of jewellery to find something I like. This was not the case as I drew up quite a large wish list.

JewelStreet plays host to a number of carefully selected, independent jewellery designers and boutiques. The choice is phenomenal as pricing ranges from as little as £20 up into thousands. It is essentially an online jewellery marketplace for sellers to showcase their products under one platform. It's definitely worth checking out whether you're looking to buy or you're a jewellery designers yourself looking to sell.

I decided to opt for this beautiful assorted, pearl bracelet by Bish Bosh Becca. I was drawn to the enchanting colours of the freshwater pearls and quartz stones. It's a piece that is perfectly in line with my own personal style and I've been reaching for it to add to my outfits almost every day.

What are your thoughts on JewelStreet and their selection?

It's no secret that I absolutely love online vintage store, ETTE. They're pretty bloody fantastic.

ETTE source the most desirable psychedelic garms and now they've also started sewing together an array of gorgeously garish bell bottoms to wet anyone's 70's appetite. Also, the gals behind the brand are some of the loveliest ladies in the land (freestyle rhyming, no biggy!). Their bell bottoms collection is pretty affordable, ranging from only £28-38. I just had to treat myself to this golden paisley sensational pair of flares. They have me feeling a little like Jimi Hendrix, but hey... that's not exactly a bad thing!

If you're not a fan of print clashing and I've made you vomit in your mouth a little bit with this paisley/glitter/velvet floral/tapestry concoction then I apologise tough shit. I certainly appreciate a multiple pattern indulgence from time to time, even if it breaks a few classic styling rules.

Ever since London Fashion Week where I spotted Lucia wearing these dungaree flares from Miss Selfridge I have not been able to stop thinking about them. Seriously. I mean they feed my hunger for two man-replling substances all at once: flares and overalls.

Also, please excuse the magical appearing fedora in a couple of these photos. I decided to actually expose my scalp to the world for once, but my fedora just kept creeping back in. The masses are just not ready to see the top of my head just yet. It's gotten to the point now where people tell me I look 'weird' without a hat.

I have to thank the bloody marvellous Chelsea for shooting these photos for me. I could not contain my excitement when I spotted this car up this cobbled road. I have never been so overly enthusiastic over a heap of metal in my entire life. If I could drive (I'm yet to still even apply for a provisional licence at 24 years old - whoops!), this would be the car of my dreams.

One day, one day...

O U T F I T | Suede Sister

15 March, 2015
Jacket: Vintage via Charity Shop // Jumper*: c/o Sugarhill Boutique //
Hat: ASOS // Shirt (underneath): ASOS //
Skirt: Marc Jacobs // Boots: New Look

Where’s all mah suede sistas, lemme hear ya’ll flow sistas
Hey sista, go sista, suede sista, flow sista
Hey sista, go sista, suede sista, go sista...

Yes, I did just start this blog post with altered Lady Marmalade lyrics. I don't know whether to apologise or take a big ol' bow. You decide.

So, I spent my Saturday afternoon in a rather interesting and unconventional way. Amba Hotels hosted a pre-Mother's Day bath bomb & soap making workshop for a group of devilish bloggers that included myself. Unfortunately, I can't quite say I'm a natural in the artistry of bath bomb creation as you can see from my final result here *cringe*. I think I'll stick to purchasing my bath bomb needs from Lush rather than wreaking havoc at home. Despite my atrocious attempt and complete failure, it was still a pretty good afternoon.  After all there were burgers, cake and beer on offer which equals a very happy Leigh indeed!

There's no way you could NOT be happy in this fun ice lolly knit jumper from Sugarhill Boutique. I mean having a FAB lolly and it's pals splashed across your breasts may just be the answer to curing just about any type of blues you may incur. P.M.S.? ICE LOLLY BOOBS. Boyfriend dumped you? ICE LOLLY BOOBS. Stubbed ya toe? ICE LOLLY BOOBS. Someone's eaten your secret chocolate stash? ICE LOLLY BOOBS. On second thoughts, nothing can fix that latter problem.

I managed to nab myself this Marc Jacobs A-line skirt for a cheap and cheerful £15 from the holy grail itself, Depop, which is pretty bloody fantastic, don'tcha think? The 70's suede jacket was from a charity shop ofc, as my outfit always has to contain at least one chazza shop piece.

O U T F I T | That 70's Show

11 March, 2015

Top, Trousers, Waistcoat, Belt, Cravat: Vintage // Boots: eBay //
Sunglasses: Camden Market // Necklace*: c/o Moon Tide Jewellery

I didn't intend upon blogging this outfit but when I spotted I was (almost) head-to-toe vintage I grabbed my camera and tripod and decided to snap it. After all, it could just be the ultimate 70's combination.

I've had these incredibly extravagant, fuckin' fantastic patchwork trousers for a number of years but I've never been able to wear them through the fear of them not being particularly flattering on my 'naturally blessed' child bearing hips. However, I couldn't bare to ever let go of them because they are just so damn good.

Today I've decided to stop giving a shit about my insecurities and take in a breathe of self confidence, because life's too short to not wear things you love.

If there's one thing I have to thank Kim K for (not really a fan of KK I'm afraid, soz guys), it's for making chunky butts like mine socially acceptable so I can finally wear a collection of fabulous garish fitted trousers like so. Cheers babe!

The necklace I'm wearing is from an independent bohemian jewellery company based in Brighton called Moon Tide Jewellery, set up by a truly talented and wondrous woman called Sarah. I have quite a penchant for crystal jewellery, so this necklace is currently my daily 'go to' piece.

Netflix has provided me with That 70's Show on loop and whilst I like to think I'm taking on board style tips from Jackie, I've come away looking a lot more like Hyde...

W A N T | Missguided Wishlist

09 March, 2015

So, last night I decided to take a little late night mooch on Missguided, but I didn't realise just how quite dangerous it could be.

I've come away with quite a hefty wishlist that you can feast your hungry eyes upon. Although heed this warning: your purse may end up a little lighter after viewing the above.

Adidas Superstars ASOS Brick Lane London Graffiti Street Art
Denim Jacket: Charity Shop // Jumper: Zara // Hat: ASOS//
Scarf: H&M

These photos were shot a couples of weeks back at Brick Lane with the darling Laura from That's So Yesterday. We popped by Beyond Retro as it's pretty much compulsory now every time we're that way, as well as mooching about Rough Trade  and grabbing a delicious burger and beer from Cafe 1001.

Now although the walls of Brick Lane, the surrounding winding alleyways and every other crevice is splattered with street art this wonderful wall of colour just drew us in! Like typical bloggers we took full advantage of the perfect backdrop for our outfit photos.

I found this long line, vintage, denim jacket for a fiverrrr in a charity shop a few weeks ago. Initially it was going to be a part of a LFW outfit, but it didn't quite make the cut in the end. It's perfect for the denim trend that's dominating this SS15 and luckily it hardly made a dent in my pocket.

This was the first time wearing my culottes from Topshop since I bought them in the autumn. I'm not sure why I've avoided wearing them for so long because they're fan-bloody-tastic! I'm all aboard the culotte bandwagon from now on! These faux leather ones are still available over on the Toppers website here and they're ideal as the weather's getting a little warmer.

What do you think of the denim trend?
