The Ultimate Burger Cake from Parteaz Cakes

27 September, 2016

My first love. Burgers are a huge part of my life and my heart. I'm on a one-woman mission to find the best burger in the world, so when I was asked to design my own cake there was only one design I had in mind.

A couple of months ago I was asked by Parteaz Cakes if I wanted to review one of their custom made celebration cakes. Even though I didn't have a party coming up and James' birthday had just passed, I couldn't pass up the opportunity for cake now, could I?! I mean, when do you ever need an excuse to sit and eat cake? Never.

The George Knitwear Care Club

Long time, no blog... but seriously, sorry, it's been a while!

I've been struggling with the 5 hours commuting a day, balancing a regular blog schedule and maintaining some sort of social life. Once I've upped sticks back to London again, my blog should develop a steady routine once again. But until then, you'll have to bear with me. In the meantime, you can follow me over on Instagram where I'm updating more regularly.

Anyway, last month I was asked by George at Asda to join their #KnitwearCareClub and submit some knitwear tips for their blog. As an avid lover of knitwear and autumn winter trends in general, I was more than up for the challenge. Plus, I get ever so excited just thinking about the arrival of autumn! After all, it's the season that matches my hair perfectly *insert sassy lady emoji here*.

They also sent over a bundle of autumn goodies including this grey, aztec knit cardigan pictured above. As someone who is very particular with cardigans, I was instantly drawn to this one which has a certain vintage aesthetic to it and would not look out of place on the rails in Beyond Retro. It's the PEEEERRRFEECCTT throw-over for those days when you don't have the time to think about your outfit (so every single day for me right now). When it comes to knitwear, the most desirable trait is to be suitably snug and for it to match the majority of your wardrobe, and luckily this one fits the bill!

They were also kind enough to send over a bunch of cosy, autumnal homewares including an amazing, porcelain fox lamp! Predictably, I'm a sucker for anything that's even remotely fox-themed.

Are you as excited for autumn knitwear as I am?

Top 3 Street Food Stalls I'm Looking Forward to at OnRoundhay 2016

04 September, 2016

Nowadays music festivals have to rely on a lot more than a reputable line-up to stand out from the hundreds upon hundreds of other festivals out there. From incredible art installations, educational talks, human experiments (I'm looking at you Burning Man), pop-up cities, and utopian communities, festivals have developed into a unique experience that caters to all of the senses rather than just sound.

For OnRoundhay Festival, a one-day festival held in Leeds, they've decided to focus on catering to taste with an extraordinary street food line-up curated by none other than Leeds Indie Food. As a self-confessed 'dirty eater', foodie and all round appreciator of anything edible, festival food is something that has my stomach, body and soul wholly excited, especially with a line-up as exciting as this! MY STOMACH IS READY.
