Velvet Doc Martens

CHERRY RED VELVET DR. MARTENS, £112, VIA EBAY

I felt as if these babies deserved a post of their own! As you may have seen, I posted these in a wishlist in the start of the year when I chanced across them on the Nasty Gal website here. I never bought them because I was too stubborn to pay the import tax which would have totaled up to around £60 and then the shipping on top, so I cast them to the back of my mind. It just so happened I was browsing through eBay and I stumbled across someone selling a pair in a size 4. My gold Doc Marten's are a size 5 and are a little big for me, so I knew a size 4 would be perfect! It did go into an intense bidding war and the auction ended whilst I was at work, so I couldn't keep a tab on it. Anyone I worked with on that day will know how much I moaned about it! Luckily though I won them because I put in a rather high max bid (which thankfully it didn't reach!).

They turned up this morning and they fit like a dream! However, they're a little bit stiff and I can tell already they're going to hurt like a bitch until they're worn in! I never had this trouble with my gold Doc Marten's because I bought them second hand and the leather had been softened already from wear. Has anyone else had this issue with brand new Doc Marten's and how long do they take to wear in? I'm currently sporting rather hideous blisters from my Underground creepers and Chelsea boots that I'm also attempting to wear in, which is making it all the more painful. Despite the pain, I'm over the moon with them and as far as I'm aware you can't get them in the UK (unless you happen to chance across them on eBay like I did!).
