S H O P P I N G | Free People King's Road Pop-Up

05 August, 2015
Last Thursday night I headed to London to attend the Free People summer party in celebration of their first ever physical UK store! Granted it's only a pop-up shop but it's something myself and other Free People enthusiasts have been waiting on for years. It was exciting enough when a UK-based website was opened a few years back, which meant no more surprise nasty overseas taxes and duties!

The launch party consisted of vegetarian nibbles and exquisite floral cocktails in Bo Drake, based in the heart of Soho. It was a lovely, light-hearted evening that left us all feeling very merry on a late July summer evening.

At the end of the night we were gifted with a voucher to spend in the new King's Road pop-up store, which was conveniently opening the following morning. As I was visiting London for the weekend, I decided to be a rather keen bean and pop along with Lois on the opening day to find myself a little something for an upcoming wedding.

The pop-up store is just a short(ish) walk from Sloane Square station and is right next door to sister store, Anthropologie. The store front is rather striking upon first impressions as it is adorned with emerald green and floral print tiles, as well as a wonderful stained glass overhead window. The stunning building itself really pays compliment to the Free People brand. Although inside is rather small, they've made use of the space rather well as each wall is lined with a rail of selected Free People pieces for you to shop. Situated in the centre as a focal point are two mannequins dressed head-to-toe in Free People garms.

The staff are some of the friendliest and chattiest girls I've ever come across in retail. As soon as you step into the store they are ever so welcoming and are on hand to help you with anything you need whether it be styling advice or fetching another size. They're the perfect team of FP girls and really do help make the experience a little more special, which is part of the Free People experience.

The price point is rather varied from a £15 paisley neck tie right up to a £450 soft leather bag, but this is well-suited to the other boutiques along King's Road, which are more higher end than the typical high street store.

I ended up purchasing the most romantic burgundy lace, bell-sleeved dress that I simply cannot wait to show you! I'm saving it's debut appearance for a school friend's wedding next weekend.

Visit the pop-up at: 141 King's Road, London, SW3 4PW
