An Evening of Cats, Cake & Crafts at Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium

03 December, 2017

Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium has been on my London 'to visit' list for quite a while. I've only ever visited a cat café once before when visiting Amsterdam and I absolutely loved it there! When More Than Pet Insurance invited me along for an evening of cats, crafting and cakes at Lady Dinah's in Shoreditch with some other cat parents I was more than eager to get involved!

Lady Dinah's is located less than a ten-minute walk from Shoreditch High Street station and is just around the corner from East London's famous Brick Lane. The café itself is very easy to miss as the shop front is rather small, but once you enter you are led through the back of the store and down into the curious Wonderland-themed basement space which is overrun with a gang of felines ready to lap up the undivided attention of the café's customers! The café is set up so that it is the dream set-up for the cats wth scratch posts on every corner, hammocks hanging from the ceiling and even a giant hamster-style wheel, which one of the kitties kept showing off in. On this particular evening, we had the entire café to ourselves after hours whilst we were guided by the lovely ladies at Midas Touch crafts on how to make a advent (or Catvent!) calendar for our very own feline friends.

That's right. I spent an entire evening constructing an advent calendar for little Wesley and it was great.

Unfortunately, whilst making out catvent calendars I found myself distracted consistently by the little fluffballs that roamed around, so I didn't actually finish my calendar before the end of the evening -whoops! However, I managed to finish piecing it together when I got home and have added some treats behind each door, including Dreamies which I'm sure Wesley will be very happy with! If you wanted to make your own advent calendar for your pet then you can find a step-by-step guide here.

In between crafting and cat cuddles - there was one particularly huge kitty called Wookie who stole my heart (second photo down) - we were treated to an afternoon tea set up with sandwiches and cakes, including some incredible lemon icing gingerbread snowflakes, which I'm still dreaming of!

It really was the perfect evening to kickstart the festive season! A huge thank you to More Than and Talented Talkers for having us. Will you be treating your pets this season?
